Most moves take the large room
The large room runs 100 to 130 sq ft, from £100 a month, and takes roughly the contents of a two-bed house with room left to walk in and reach the back. If you are clearing one or two rooms rather than a whole house, the medium at 70 sq ft from £70 is usually enough, and the small at 50 to 60 sq ft from £85 holds about a garden shed's worth. Worth knowing before you pack
- Units are insulated, but pack electronics off the floor anyway
- Vehicle access runs to the door, so hire vans unload straight in
- Label by room, not by contents, if you are unpacking in stages
- Leave a walkway down one side of anything bigger than the small room
- One month minimum, so a short chain delay is not expensive
